Responsibilities
Under the direction of the HAWC Coordinator, the Lead Intake Specialist Assessment and HCV Navigator is responsible for providing comprehensive assessments, HCV leadership to Intake Specialists, facilitating the implementation of projects related to HCV, representing HAWC and The Salvation Army to the community at large through the development and maintenance of relationships with key community groups, responding to inquires and complaints from clients and community agency representatives in relationship to HCV processes and procedures and to fulfill HAWC's HCV mission to the greatest extent practicable by treating all with dignity and respect.
Duties/Responsibilities1) Provision of literally homeless assessments and eviction prevention assistance to families and individuals in the county services area.(a) Receive referrals from Housing Access for HAWC for households who are homeless and/or at risk of becoming homeless.(b) Assures that literally homeless and eviction prevention assessments are completed within 48 hours of receiving referral.(c) As needed, coordinate referrals to other TSA casework staff.(d) Refer families and individuals to shelters, housing openings, agencies, and other housing options to prevent homelessness.(e) Maintain, update, and report on shelter and hotel placements in coordination with CHP lists and VI SPDAT information.(f) Request financial assistance through Barrier Busters, or other available resource, for households that qualify for eviction prevention assistance.(g) Responsible for becoming knowledgeable and familiar with local housing resources, local landlords, and low income properties in Washtenaw County. 2) Facilitate projects related to HCV process(a) Organize HCV sign-ups, information workshops and housing agency meetings, (b) Work in partnership with community-based providers to develop and implement programs that promote housing and access to housing resources. (c) Create projects that promote the HCV process and encourage housing agencies to participate in the process as partners.(d) Provide mobile sign up for HCV, manage the HCV recertification process, organize and design a HCV system for locating and providing information to clients and coordinate HCV efforts with the community relations representative for HAWC(e) Establish and maintain an innovative communication system for agency and client inquires and complaints that improves response time and resolutions as it relates to the HCV system.(f) .Record all data in real time within HMIS Service Point.(g) Attend community meetings, workshops, seminars related to HCV issues as required.
3) Represent HAWC and The Salvation Army to the community at large, which includes developing and maintaining relationships with key community groups.4) Provide leadership to Call Center Intake Specialists.5) Provide and maintain community linkages as appropriate to the needs of the consumer and provide as much information to the consumer as possible.6) Develop and maintain knowledge of social case work methods and techniques.
Qualifications
1. Possessing a bachelors degree or at least two years completion of education in a human service field.2. Two years (combination) of customer service and social service experience required.3. Basic understanding of issues facing people in poverty and crisis with a commitment and desire to assist individuals and families achieve stability, health, wholeness, and independence.4. Proven communication, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.5. Demonstrated ability to interact positively with individuals, colleagues and community agencies.6. Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette7. Basic computer literacy required.

The normal hours of program operation are Monday through Friday from 8:
30 AM to 5:
00 PM. This is a full time, 40 hour a week position. While a scheduled shift will be provided in advance, the ability to work additional or flexible hours may be required to fulfill the duties of this position.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
