State and Local Tax (SALT) Manager
The candidate will be responsible for or assisting with all aspects of the State And Local Tax practice including: technical research, writing and issue resolution; controversy defense; obtaining guidance from government authorities; assisting in voluntary disclosure service requests; SALT impact and planning during due diligence reviews ; SALT planning; marketing; and training and development including oversight and assistance with multistate compliance. Will have the responsibility for developing client relationships and providing work product. Serve in the significant interaction with partners, clients and prospects. Deliver a full range of tax planning, consulting and compliance services to clients. Perform tax research, prepare technical memorandums, and draft client correspondence. Review significant SALT returns. Represent taxpayers before SALT taxing authorities. Obtain guidance from SALT authorities. Perform SALT due diligence. Utilize knowledge of State and Local income/franchise taxes including filing methodologies (unitary, consolidated, separate company), state modifications, apportionment, and credits and incentives. Perform state and local tax compliance reviews and assist clients with state and local tax controversies. Build relationships with current client base to create and support client business development efforts of SALT services. Identify, market, sell and implement planning opportunities and strategies. Prepare, review and maintain engagement letters and budgets. Manage, train, and mentor staff.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
