Employees in this role utilize knowledge base, case management tools and phone system to assist customers with human resources inquiries working within the Michigan Medicine Human Resources Solution Center (HRSC).

Responsibilities The primary duties of this position are to provide the following services, under the general direction of the HRSC Leads and Manager:
Using Michigan Medicine and University of Michigan guidelines, review and process Personnel Action Request (PAR) transactions for Michigan Medicine employees-includes job data changes, DBE (department budget earnings), additional pay, leaves of absence requests and termination requests.
Adapts to change when applying knowledge from one situation to another resulting in accurate handling of each situation.
Use problem solving skills to resolve issues with transactions, HR Job Data, and policy interpretation.
Will become knowledgeable in a variety of other service area's in Michigan Medicine HR to answer questions and provide support when necessary including employment, compensation and labor.
Listen to issues and ask probing questions to assist in interpreting University HR/Union Contract policies/procedures, providing recommendations and answer/resolve concerns.
Document inquiries and outcomes within the center's case management software application.
Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information, recommending courses of action.
Using judgment, escalate or resolve employee or manager concerns as appropriate.
Partner with HR Business Partners and/or Networks of Expertise areas to resolve issues.
Conduct personnel file reviews and respond to managers with summary.
Coordinate and respond to requests for civil subpoenas.
Review and respond to former employee's requesting a rehire status change.
Identifies issues using critical thinking and demonstrates sound judgement when making recommendations.
Provide backup and cross-coverage to other positions on this team Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience working Human Resources, or Customer Service in a contact center environment.
0- 3 years of experience Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively delivering high quality customer service Proven ability to multitask and work efficiently and effectively while working in a fast-paced environment Ability to meet deadlines Ability to demonstrate independence, and flexibility in supporting multiple units, within a high-volume work environment.
Proficient in standard office computer skills (Microsoft Office 365, Google, Dropbox) Effective communication skills, including personable phone skills, active listening skills and strong written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well within a diverse, team environment Problem resolution experience with demonstrated ability to influence all employee levels Desired Qualifications Knowledge of MPathways/PeopleSoft platforms Familiarity with administrative processes, procedures, and systems at the University of Michigan Work Locations Position is currently primarily remote.
However, the candidate must live within a reasonable distance to Ann Arbor.
Physical location is located at 2901 Hubbard Rd, Ann Arbor Michigan 48109.
Coverage hours are 8am-5pm M-F Background Screening Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
