On the Editorial Team, we report and write stories for LSA Magazine and other channels that highlight the vibrant and essential work being done by our faculty, students, and alumni.
Writers build relationships with academic departments to find stories that we then share with an audience of more than 200,000 people.

Who you are You are curious about the relationships among individuals, and between individuals and their societies.
You get excited at the idea of writing stories about the healing power of words, how evolution has shaped human thought, and how physical spaces can encourage breakthrough ideas.
You want to interview experts who can explain machinations in the political system or predict economic trends.
You gain satisfaction from writing long-form feature stories as well as short-form articles, headlines, and detailed photo captions.
You meet deadlines and word counts, and you are always ready for the next challenge.
You value the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in a work environment and in the stories that we tell.
What you'll do You will produce compelling stories about LSA students, alumni, faculty, and staff, with a focus on social sciences, for LSA Magazine and other communications channels.
You will translate complex research and issues into stories that are relatable to a broad, non-academic audience.
You will work in a collaborative team environment and embrace the opportunity to write and produce stories in a variety of formats in a fast-paced environment.
You will serve as the main liaison between our communications team and all of the social science departments and units.
You will discover, develop, and write stories that showcase LSA's unique and powerful brand of liberal arts education.
You'll report directly to the editorial manager.
The salary range for this position is $62,000-$67,000.

Required Qualifications 3
years of professional writing experience Experience creating different types of written stories and content, especially magazine articles, as well as others, such as interactive web-based stories, slideshows, blogs, newsletters, and captions Experience proofreading news and feature articles for general audiences Experience meeting deadlines and word counts Proficiency in comment- and edit-tracking functions in programs such as Google Docs, Word, and similar programs Demonstrated ability to work on multiple diverse projects at the same time Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural competency through actions, interactions, and communications with others A bachelor's degree, ideally in communications, journalism, or English Not sure you meet all qualifications? Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
