3 Ann Arbor, MI Ann Arbor, MI Part-time Part-time $18 an hour $18 an hour Responsibilities The Office of Graduate Studies is seeking one graduate student intern to support the success of digital education graduate students at the School of Nursing.
Under the supervision of Jenna Blumenauer, Senior Academic Advisor, an intern will be tasked with the following opportunities:
Monitor and assess a conditional admit & academic probation process for students considered to be a conditional admit Support adivsor auditing process Coordinate monthly student newsletters Provide Canvas site announcements and maintenance Utilize Student Success Viewer, an early warning system, for tracking, reporting & outreach Aid in the efforts to update and revamp online & virtual orientations as needed Coordinate a variety of student support services events Support UMSN peer-to-peer mentorship program including:
Mentor Training and onboarding Kickoff events Evaluation and assessment Student outreach and engagement Administrative support duties when needed This internship is ideal for those who are interested in which areas of higher education? The intern will have an opportunity to work with graduate online programs that include MSN, DNP, and post-master certification encompassing a variety of different teaching and learning platforms.
The primary focus will be regarding student success and working with graduate students through a non-traditional web-blended format.
Academic advising, faculty program leadership team interaction regarding the intricacies of the faculty role, academics, and student support including opportunities surrounding DEI initiatives as it pertains to student success are also plausible in this internship.
What skills/knowledge will the intern gain from this internship? An intern in this position will gain skills & knowledge of logistics, workflow, the roled of an academic advisor, engaging with students and supporting success with students at a distance, mentorships, event planning and implementation including assessment of events, process development, student record, and program plan auditing, managing honor code violations, time management, multi-tasking, utilizing student management software (Electronic Student Records) for managing student program plans/progressions, an academic early warning tool (Student Explorer), manage interdepartmental workflow processes, utilizing an Learning Management System (i.
e.
Canvas) for the administration of Online Orientation Programs.
Additionally, the intern will have opportunities to explore specific areas of interest not already covered.
