Summary The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN) seeks a Development Assistant to provide general administrative and clerical support for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Development & Alumni Relations.
You will be responsible for a thorough understanding of development practices.
Supervision is received from the Chief Development Officer.
Responsibilities P rovide administrative support for the Chief Development Officer and the Office of Development including answer, respond and triage main phone line request, donor and non-alumni inquiries, and various general email accounts and written correspondence.
Monitor office supplies and provide assistance to team with remote work, facilities, and IT requests.
Assist team in calendaring; organizing schedules; meeting and presentation preparation; draft and process funding proposals and gift agreements; monitor email and correspondence; expense report and Concur processing (including P-cards, processing travel and hosting reimbursements for the office); general duties as assigned.
Manage development team calendars for UMSN wide and University of Michigan/Office of Development wide events.
Create agendas for the development team and other relevant meetings.
Serve as liaison between the development team and UMSN or OUD for communicating news, events, and changes.
Process gifts received at the School, and prepare gift acknowledgements, including creating ThankView acknowledgements.
Establish individual memorial tribute sites on the Leaders & Best website, process acknowledge tribute, memorial, and matching gifts.
Facilitate and manage gift agreement processing.
Report generation, formatting, and use of DART (document plans, interactions, and asks), Business Objects, GEM, Tableau and other systems required for business operations and campaign planning/execution.
Upload stewardship impact reports, Dean's Letters, obituaries, and articles as needed.
Provide Dean and UMSN leadership with briefing and other preparatory materials in advance of donor meetings or events, including calendar planning, itineraries, briefings, and maps.
Coordinate travel, including booking flights, arranging rental cars, and hotel accommodations and reservations, generate planning and list review reports as needed, prepare trip itineraries and compile trip materials.
Manage campaign collateral, monitor and update digital and print stock, create campaign reports and presentations, update DART documentation, coordinate and assist with campaign events and manage other campaign related activities.
Schedule and set up Zoom, webinar meetings, and events, donor meetings and events, other UM fundraising event assistance, student philanthropy events like Hail Yeah! or UMSN events such as the Margaret M.
Calarco Lecture, the We Dare Challenge, or Donor Connect webinars.
Design invitations, create mailings and manage invitation lists.
In collaboration with outside vendors, create and distribute Planned Giving mailings on a bi-annual basis.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
A minimum of three (3) years of administrative support experience required in a fast-paced, customer service oriented environment is required.
Demonstrated experience at the advanced level in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook (with both email and calendaring)).
Candidate must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums.
You will be expected to have solid interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

Ability to work independently as well as effectively in teams.
Must have the ability to work comfortably with individuals at all levels (faculty, staff, students, donors, alumni, etc.
).
Demonstrated proof reading and editing skills.
Must reliably manage multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
Ability to maintain a collegial relationship with departments on and off campus.
