We are seeking a laboratory manager with laboratory experience for the successful execution of research.
This involves overseeing all aspects of the daily lab operations as well as monitoring and guiding the research and service efforts of other lab personnel.
This is a new laboratory within the University of Michigan and is in the process of being set up for long-term success.

1 Match on retirement savings Responsibilities The successful applicant will assist with management and organization of mouse colonies, technician scheduling, databases and experimental records, and laboratory inventory.
In addition, the successful applicant will help with lab organization and general laboratory duties.
This position will include other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Manage multiple aspects of the day-to-day operations of the group, including the management of multiple IACUC-approved animal protocols, maintaining compliance with EHS lab safety requirements, and handling procurement activities.
Facilitate day-to-day research laboratory operations involving procurement and inventory of reagents and supplies.
Manage multiple IACUC protocols and serve as the point of contact for biannual IACUC inspections.
Manage the laboratory's IBC protocol to ensure safe usage of recombinant DNA constructs, viral gene delivery systems, and cell lines.
Serve as the laboratory's safety officer, maintaining all required documentation for annual EHS inspections.
Facilitate animal research by the faculty, students, and postdocs in the lab and assisting when needed.
Provide technical support to a range of research projects using various techniques including routine molecular and biochemical techniques.
Help maintain mouse colonies, including supervision of genotyping and genetic crosses.
Help maintain lab organization and electronic lab notebooks.
Onboard and train users in lab protocols, equipment operation and standard techniques.
Participate in periodic research discussions.
Ability to develop new techniques and methods through literature searches and work effectively to assure rapid research progress.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and achieve short- and long-range plans.
Manages the daily operation of the lab.
Provides training and guidance and resolves personnel problems.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Senior level:
5-6 years of related experience, i.
e.
, published in a field of specialty and academic knowledge in a field or discipline.
Intermediate level:
Minimum 4 years experience in a related field.
Associate level:
Minimum 1 year experience in a related field.
Desired Qualifications A practical knowledge of molecular and cellular biology with experience in technologies such as RNAseq, DNA methlyaltion, chromatin profiling assays, flow and mass cytometry, cell sorting, and cell culture.
Experience in single cell technologies an asset but not mandatory.
