Mott Children's Hospital is seeking a qualified massage therapist to join its consultation service.
This therapist will be part of an interdisciplinary team that has provided more than 700 inpatient and outpatient consultations in the last year for children with advanced, complex and life-limiting conditions and their families.
The team is made up of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and spiritual care providers, a child life specialist and a music therapist.
Consultations lead to recommendations which seek to minimize distressing symptoms and maximize quality of life.
Our team works collaboratively with specialists and support staff in all medical and surgical sub-specialties and in all the wards and intensive care units in the children's hospital as well as in an ambulatory clinic.
The massage therapist on the team will provide direct patient services, act as a team extender, and be an important part of providing comfort to our patients and their families while admitted.
This is a term appointment for 6 months.

1 Match on retirement savings Responsibilities Works collaboratively with the Pediatric Palliative Care interdisciplinary team to identify and screen appropriate patients for massage Provides massage therapy for pediatric palliative care patients after referral and according to the individualized plan of care Communicates all essential information effectively with patients, families, and medical teams Assists in developing and maintaining patient education Documents all patient interactions Follows all established safety and infection control policies and procedures Reports and maintains clinical information and develops and tracks key metrics Adheres to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory and legal requirements Demonstrates ability to work independently and productively (within established timelines) and is self-directed and reliable Required Qualifications Certification from a credentialed school of Massage Therapy Active State of Michigan Massage Therapy license Minimum of one-year experience in message therapy or related experience in a health care setting Demonstrated communication and team building skills Desired Qualifications Effective verbal, written skill set Experience with EPIC or an EMR application Experience caring for children with high symptoms burden and/or complex conditions Timely and concise documentation skills Experience with patient and family education Work Schedule 6 months term appointment Flexible three days a week, based on inpatient needs.
Background ScreeningMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
