Responsibilities will include carrying out competitive intelligence activities, tracking potential deals in progress, organizing and managing the overall due diligence process, and developing and testing business cases for deals under consideration.
In addition, you will be an integral driver of Investor Relations (IR) activities, including tracking IR events, managing the IR calendar, and becoming an expert across IR related services.
Responsibilities will include:
Track incoming leads and deals in process and report on metrics related to deal flow by stage.
Conduct competitive intelligence activities to keep abreast of competitors in the industry and their external innovation / M&A activities.
Lead the due diligence process, including:
Manage and organize questions from internal stakeholders for partners.
Track the completion of due diligence questions to ensure full answers have been provided.
Assess risks identified by internal due diligence participants and make recommendations of modifications to deal structures based on stated risks.
Manage the collection of diligence memos and prepare final memos for presentation.
Own the process for deal modeling, including the valuation of potential business opportunities.
Participate in negotiations and recommend deal structures to maximize deal value.
Participate in the development of business cases supporting external innovation deals, and work closely with executive leadership to refine business case presentations for board meetings.
Coordinate and record investor events and provide intelligence and records for management.
Coordinate with the Finance department on key metrics needed to support business activities.
Monitor and coordinate responses to investor inquiries, including tracking social media and other mediums for investor-related commentary and coordinating responses with management.
Assist with ad hoc requests needed to support investors.
Job requirements and skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field; Advanced degree a plus.
At least 5 to 7 years of related experience, preferably in the life sciences or healthcare industry; experience working in a start-up environment a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners; solid negotiation skills.
Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
Demonstrated success in leading analyses to completion and communicating data in a non-technical way to guide organizational thinking, strategy development, and execution.
Must possess exceptional analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and have excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
Proven business acumen to effectively interpret data; understanding of valuation methods and ability to drive valuation models.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with ERP systems preferred, including experience leveraging Tableau, MS Power BI, or similar tools for data analysis.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and be flexible in responding to changing business demands.
