Non-Union Benefit Summary Role Summary The Deputy Director of Human Resources provides principal assistance to the Chief Human Resources & Labor Relations Officer in strategically overseeing the following areas within the Human Resources Department:
Human Resources Services (Labor & Employee Relations and Policy & Procedure Administration), Recruitment, Comp/HRIS, and Benefits, as well as supporting the Performance Management and Learning Management systems and processes, and facilitating Training and Organization Development endeavors.
Strategic partnering with Organizational Equity regarding city wide DEIJA
initiatives and Finance regarding budget and compensation matters.
The Deputy Director of Human Resources Services supports Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide a customer service-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes equity, empowerment, productivity standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment, retention, re-engagement and ongoing development of a superior and inspired workforce.
Education, Training and Experience requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human resource management, organizational behavior, public administration, or a related field:
and Master's degree or professional HR certification.
Ten (10) plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources Management.
At least ten (10) years of labor relations experience.
The City of Ann Arbor will consider an alternative combination of education and experience.
Education, Training and Experience Preferred:
Masters degree and professional HR certification.
Experience leading HR in public services (government municipality).
Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement.
