The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the hotel facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and cleanliness.
The Maintenance Supervisor role will directly support the BSHG Operations team, and be a core part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial company.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for the overall physical condition of the hotel building and grounds, with little to no supervision Conduct inspections of hotel facilities, retail tenant leased spaces, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance issues and propose solutions Perform preventative maintenance on building, equipment and systems to prevent maintenance issues and ensure optimal performance Perform general repairs and services in all maintenance related disciplines, including but not limited to:
carpentry, plumbing, electrical, finish work, mechanics, HVAC/refrigeration, etc.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
changing light bulbs, touch up paint, fixing plumbing and electrical problems, repairing damaged furniture and fixtures, unclogging toilets, etc.
Troubleshoot technical issues, such as Wi-Fi and cable accessibility, guest room appliances, AC, remote key system, etc.
Respond and attend to guest repair requests Prioritize repair requests from the BSHG team, cleaning staff, virtual management team Report guest repair requests to the BSHG team and respond to them in a timely and professional manner Communicate promptly and track work through BSHG's software applications used to coordinate between the remotely staffed departments Maintain accurate records of work and communicate each day's activities to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed Interview, train, coach, and mentor other maintenance technicians as necessary and review their quality of work Source, negotiate, engage, and manage third party vendors and service providers as needed, including for proposed capital improvement projects Be able to identify, locate, and operate all building shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings Help create and display thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures Receive maintenance requests from third-party retail tenants, determine which party is responsible for the request based on lease language, and respond accordingly Assist in receiving regular shipments of hotel inventory Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain a safe working environment at all times Act as local on-call contact for any emergencies as needed Perform other job duties as requested JOB REQUIREMENTS 8
years of maintenance/construction experience, hospitality industry a plus Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues and perform repairs as needed Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Experience negotiating third-party contracts and managing vendors Ability to use hospitality software applications on computer and phone Desire to work in entrepreneurial, start-up environment Exceptional written / virtual communication skills Problem-solving approach focused on implementing cost-effective solutions COMPANY OVERVIEW Blue Suede Hospitality Group (BSHG) is a new generation hospitality company, focused on making traveling better for our guests.
