AbleLight is currently hiring a Program Support Specialist, part-time hours per week to support the AbleLight College program at the Ann Arbor, MI Concordia University campus during the school year.
In this position, this individual participates in the instruction of individual and small group practicum of the AbleLight college program.
Working closely with the leadership team, they develop and support lesson plans, organize learning activities, manage student behaviors, observe classroom procedures, prepare visual materials and other educational equipment both within the traditional classroom as well as on job sites and other areas where learning is occurring on campus.
They provide ongoing assessment and feedback of students, and document and maintain students' records for evaluation.
Additionally, this individual provides support to residence life as part of supporting the full learning experience for students.
Requirements:
High School Diploma and 2-3 years of relevant college coursework Bachelor's degree, preferred.
Experience working with special needs population (internships, volunteering or other employment experiences).
Instruction or teaching experience (internships, volunteering or other employment experiences).
Ability to work part-time day hours during the school year.
Valid Driver's license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance and a good driving record Ability to communicate verbally and written effectively.
Ability to use independent judgement during services and emergencies.
Ability to identify and find solutions for behavioral issues, listening to the student's needs, following behavior supports and resolving conflict.
Excellent organizational, coordination, and scheduling skills.
Ability to multi-task and follow through with minimal missed deadlines or miscommunications.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to be onsite during the school year at Ann Arbor, MI Concordia University daily.

Responsibilities:
Engage students in learning content through activities, assignments, grouping, materials, resources, structure, and pacing.
Learn and implement questioning and discussion techniques that promote student participation and knowledge acquisition.
Attends assigned audited courses within CUAA (Ann Arbor Concordia University) and/or job sites with students, assists in comprehension of material, completion of assignments, focusing, giving feedback, and using study strategies.
Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one.
Assess students' skills and determine their educational needs in the classroom and job sites.
Assist Director of Admissions in securing student internships.
Plan activities that are specific to each student's abilities in classroom and social settings.
Provide advocacy for students in all settings.
Participate in regular meetings with team.
Support and partner with team to engage in communicating updates with parents and guardians on progress.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
