Ann Arbor, MI Ann Arbor, MI Full-time Full-time $135,000 - $150,000 a year $135,000 - $150,000 a year 8 days ago 8 days ago 8 days ago Element has an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our growing team in Ann Arbor, MI As a member of the operational leadership team in one of the various laboratories across Element, and under the supervision of the General Manager, the Operations Manager performs a variety of leadership responsibilities within the Element Ann Arbor location to insure high quality products to the clients.
All Operational Leadership positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Element Ann Arbor's areas of focus are in the Biopharmaceutical and Pharmaceutical CMC space, particularly for innovative drug substance and drug products such as complex large molecules, and advance therapeutics such as gene therapy, gene editing therapy, and cell therapy.
Responsibilities:
The department leaders will report to the Operations Manager Works closely with the General Manager to execute on the business strategy for the site Works closely with the technical teams to ensure project delivery is on time and meet customer scope expectations Works closely with the Program Management and Lab Support teams to ensure that all supporting activities are in place to complete projects on time that meet client expectations Ensures that safety and quality standards are being met and maintained at all times within the company's safety and QA programs.
Is responsible for and leads the location safety performance and awareness; spearheads and manages initiatives that drive a culture of safety first Provides and sets direction within the lab to ensure that project goals and customer expectations are consistently met in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner Demonstrates deep knowledge of CMC and familiar with the regulatory landscape Measures, monitors, and track continuous operational excellence to meet site goals Is able to effectively inspire and communicate understanding to both direct and indirect reports with the end result being a more thoroughly equipped workforce to meet customer needs on a daily basis Establishes and maintains relationships with third parties/vendors, and ensure outsourcing work is completed on time Performs other related duties as assigned Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, Masters, or Ph.
D.
in chemistry or biochemistry related studies 3-5 years' experience in operations and/or program management Biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical CMC experience Experience in analytical chemistry and biochemistry of large molecules preferred Strong organization and communication skills (oral and written) Excellent problem-solving abilities and an attitude of learning Excellent critical and outside-the box thinking in order to meet customer's intent Solutions-based work ethics Strong business acumen Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other program and operations management tools Good fundamentals and ability to learn quickly Job Type:
