Summary This role will report to the Assistant Director of Graduate Career Education and primarily focus on supporting students through advising, program delivery, and administrative coordination of the internship program.
This role will join the UMSI Career Development Office (CDO), which is a progressive, fast-paced career development team managing career development education, services, resources and programs that are both curricular and co-curricular in nature.

Develops and assesses outreach campaigns for target populations (i.
e.
, transfer students and SJTU students) to promote interventions for student learning and career development.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment ensure compliance with FERPA and Clery Act.
Practice and adhere to advising/coaching practices in compliance with NACE professional standards and policies.
UMSI Internship Course Coordination 40% Provide administrative coordination for UMSI Internship Courses to support curricular internships across three degree programs.
Coordinate internal internship approval process each semester maintaining systems, forms, spreadsheets, and running reports.
Lead student communication/outreach and assist with setup of internship Canvas course sites.
Manage internship inbox to triage and answer student questions.
Coordinate internship course enrollment with UM and UMSI Registrar to provide course permissions.
Provide Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Advisor forms for international students.
Liaise between UMSI, UM Registrar and International Center to understand and translate policies and guidelines in order to communicate with students and promote compliance with visa laws and guidelines.
Student Engagement 15% Design and develop engaging career education events, programs, and resources for UMSI students in alignment with students' career interests, searches and recruiting/labor trends.
Facilitate a range of workshops, presentations, and panels.
Lead and facilitate job/internship search support groups for students to participate in.
Service, Learning & Professional Development (5%) Participate in a variety of professional development activities in support of the school's mission, goals, and strategic priorities.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience which leads to understanding of human and/or student development, counseling best practices, and the process for obtaining a job/internship.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in advising, counseling, and/or coordinating programs in a university/college setting.
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and exercise sound decision making on relevant issues independently.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accomplish multiple tasks autonomously and efficiently.
Proven skills at developing, delivering, and evaluating presentations and programs.
Work Schedule Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required.
May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.
Some hybrid remote work may be possible, in accordance with UMSI Remote Work Policy.
Remote work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change depending upon business needs.
Work Locations Will require travel to multiple locations on & off campus.
Will occasionally provide opportunity for domestic travel.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
