Stamps School of Art & Design is looking for a temporary Installation Assistant to work in the Stamps Gallery, 201 S Division St, Ann Arbor.
The Installation Assistant will report to the Exhibition Coordinator and Preparator and will assist with installation and de-installation of exhibitions, following best practices.
Responsibilities Install a comprehensive range of artworks in a variety of media Help with transportation and storage of artwork before the installation and follow de-installation Install digital, multimedia, and other tech-intensive works and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise Required Qualifications 1
years experience physically handling art work in a variety of media from delicate works on paper to large-scale sculptures and installations made of fabric to industrial materials Demonstrated knowledge of techniques used in exhibition preparation.
Working knowledge of small tools, carpentry and woodworking, painting walls, hanging two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks and basic construction.
Experience and working knowledge of painting and prepping walls for painting.
Work Schedule During Exhibition Setup & Takedown Recruiting for upcoming installation dates:
April 26 - May 30, 2023 August 1 - Sep 7, 2023 December 11 - 21, 2023 January 8 - 18, 2024 Additional Information Pay Rate:
