As the General Manager you will direct and coordinate all manufacturing activities at the designated manufacturing site(s).
On site General Managers are responsible for all functional area local leadership at the facility to include estimating, customer relations, graphics, supply chain, scheduling, operations (Production Manager), quality, shipping/receiving, and R&D to ensure safe operations that meet the quality, compliance, and financial requirements of our internal and external customers.
Where a General Manager has multi-site responsibilities, their direct report will be the Plant Manager of the satellite location.
This includes administering organizational policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers for the designated sites.
Compensation:
$140K - $190K plus 15% bonus Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Oversee the environmental, health, and Safety (EHS) programs.
Direct management of the customer service, estimating, graphics, purchasing, scheduling, production, ink, shipping, and maintenance functions.
Collaboration with shared services - EH&S, accounting, IT, and human resources Direct responsibility for the site P&L as compared to the designated budget.
Ensure quality product is produced in a safe and timely manner while striving to exceed customer expectations.
Lead the management team on the creation, implementation and ongoing monitoring of manufacturing plans, goals, and continuous improvement projects.
Utilize the company's ERP system to extract and analyze relevant data to drive operational improvement.
Utilize lean principles to evaluate, implement, and continuously improve production processes and procedures to drive workflow optimization and improved financial performance.
Develop and monitor of key performance indicators (KPI's) including labor variance, material variance, quality metrics, and on-time delivery.
Manage direct reports to include performance management metrics and disciplinary action.
Implements programs to ensure attainment of business plans for growth and profit.
Develop and create strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals.
Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees.
Create and implement training initiatives and programs for all manufacturing staff.
Ensure that cross training efforts are completed to minimize disruptions to the business and maintain business continuity.
Coach and develop direct reports and assist with recruiting efforts to ensure the team has the depth to take on additional responsibility as the business grows.
Maintain OSHA, GFSI, and GMP compliance.
Improvement of quality by researching best practices and identifying new/needed skills, processes, or methods Requirements:
Education and
Experience:
College Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline preferred.
At least 10 years' experience in a mid-or large-size flexible packaging or label printing operation.
At least 5 of those years should be in a management position within the company with full P&L responsibility.
Multi-site and/or cross-functional experience preferred.
Proven record of leading manufacturing teams to meet or exceed company goals.
Lean / Six Sigma experience is preferred with a strong emphasis on waste and make-ready time reduction.

Outstanding experience in manufacturing ERP systems (Radius is preferred).
Must be proficient with Microsoft office (including Microsoft Excel and Outlook).
Comfortable with data driven management and data tools and analysis.
Expert knowledge of flexographic printing processes is required.
Additional digital press experience preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to relate mechanical and technical concepts in non-technical language is required.
